It looks as my wishes came true as in the last minutes Countries agreed a deal today to push for a new climate treaty, salvaging the latest round of United Nations climate talks from the brink of collapse. After more than two weeks of intense talks, some 190 countries agreed to four main elements — a second commitment period under the Kyoto Protocol, the design of a Green Climate Fund and a mandate to get all countries in 2015 to sign a deal that would force them to cut emissions no later than 2020, as well as a workplan for next year.

Skype has released the app for iPad and iPad 2 so giving users a way to chat by text, voice or video with their Skype pals. obviously one needs iPad 2 for video chat, but on iPad one, one can have a one way video chat as iPad one does not have the camera. Considering that I don't like the video capture anyway, I don't mind keeping my iPad 1 for a while longer.

This one is in C# and opens up huge potential for Developers to enhance it even further. Whilst the community edition gets majority of the enhancements. Apple at Cupertino just reported its best quarter ever, with earnings of $7.79 per share, revenue totaling $28.57 billion, and a net profit of $7.31 billion. We know you're probably more interested in sales figures, however, Apple's continued to ship iPhones and iPads at a steady pace, with 20.34 million smartphones and 9.25 million tablets sold last quarter.

GoDaddy, the world’s largest domain registrar, has been sold to three private equity firms in a deal valued at $2.25 billion, the company announced late Friday. As a report predicted a week ago, private equity firms KKR & Co., Silver Lake Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures sealed the deal, in which they agreed to take on GoDaddy’s debt. That report indicated 'Go Daddy' would be sold for between $2 billion and $2.5 billion.

According to a IDC report today, the worldwide mobile phone market grew 19.8% year over year in the first quarter of 2011. This fantastic growth was fueled by as expected high smartphone growth, especially in emerging markets, and gains made by market challengers. According to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Mobile Phone Tracker, vendors shipped 371.8 million units in 1Q11 compared to 310.5 million units in the first quarter of 2010.

Right now this is only for Google users that reside in the US, have a Google Profile, be logged in and enable +1 to see how it works. Google has done this nearly a year after Facebook Like buttons spread out across the web, Google has announced its own rival, the +1 button. The launches is part of Google’s search engine, allowing you to “+1″ the search results and ads that you like. And in a few months, it is likely to be rolled out in the rest of the world.

Microsoft Corp., the world’s largest software maker, said second-quarter profit topped analysts’ estimates as corporate customers bought more Office and server programs and consumers purchased Xbox Kinect motion sensors With a net income was $6.63 billion, or 77 cents a share, compared with $6.66 billion, or 74 cents, a year earlier with sales rise to 4.9 percent to $20 billion. In contrast Apple announced their blowout earnings for the holiday quarter Apple’s made $6 billion profit quarter was easily their best ever with a full $1.7 billion above their previous record.

I have been watching this case on and off, not only for the amount of money involved but also for the personalities and companies behind the disputes. On one side was Lawrence J. Ellison, the confrontational chief executive of Oracle and the third-richest man in America, and on the other side were the executives of SAP, who had admitted making illicit copies of Oracle’s software and manuals while insisting that the theft really didn’t cause much damage.
